Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-21
MedCodeSearch is built to be used without creating an account or handing over personal information. This page describes exactly what is collected today, and what might change.
No accounts, no login
MedCodeSearch does not offer user accounts, sign-in, saved searches, or any personal profile. There is nothing to register for and nothing to delete, because nothing is created in your name.
No email collection today
The site does not currently ask for, collect, or store your email address, name, or any other contact information through the pages you browse or search. The only place an email address changes hands is if you choose to email hello@medcodesearch.com yourself, in which case that message and its contents (including your email address) are handled like any other email — used to respond to you, and not sold or shared with third parties.
Search queries
Search requests are processed to return results and are not tied to an account, since none exists. Standard web infrastructure (the hosting and network layer that serves every request) necessarily sees request metadata such as your IP address and browser user agent in order to deliver the page at all; this is normal for any website and is not used here to build a profile of you.
Cookies and local storage
MedCodeSearch does not set tracking cookies or use browser storage to identify you across visits today. If a future feature stores a small preference in your browser (for example, remembering a display setting), it will stay on your device and will not be used to identify or track you across sites.
Analytics
MedCodeSearch may add privacy-conscious analytics in the future (for example, to see which pages are most useful and to fix broken ones) without necessarily updating this notice on the same day the feature ships. If usage analytics are enabled, they will be used in aggregate to understand traffic and site health, not to build individual profiles for sale or marketing. This page will be revised to describe any analytics tool by name once one is in use.
Advertising
Advertising is not enabled at launch. MedCodeSearch may enable advertising in the future to support the cost of running the site. If that happens, consent handling (such as a cookie/consent banner) will be put in place where required by applicable law — for example under the EU/UK GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws — before any consent-requiring advertising technology is activated, and this policy will be updated to name the advertising partner and describe what it collects.
Third-party links
Code pages and the Data Sources page link out to official government and CMS sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Children's privacy
MedCodeSearch is a general-purpose reference tool not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
No certifications claimed
MedCodeSearch does not hold and does not claim any privacy or security certification (for example HIPAA covered-entity status, SOC 2, or ISO 27001). It is a public reference site for public code-set data, not a system that handles patient records or protected health information.
Changes to this policy
If what MedCodeSearch collects changes — for instance when analytics or advertising is enabled — this page will be updated and its "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
